New version of NetCobol.Net brings Powerform back
By host on5/4/2010
Wow, Alchemy finally released Powerform for .net. Maybe Fujitsu would consider a .Net version of PowerCobol in the next release. That would be the way to preserve user base since many users are leaving Fujitsu Cobol for other languages (mainly C#) when moving into .Net due the lack of PowerCobol support in this environment. Personally I don't think this would be so hard to implement. Even if you say you would need to adapt Active X support using whatever wrappers, a lot of code could be preserved. A user told me that "what is the point to continue with Cobol if I need to rewrite everything that I have in Power in order to move into .Net?"...good point.
